Our student body is diverse -- roughly 30% African-American, 30% Latino, 30% Asian and 10% White. Immigrating from over forty countries, close to two-thirds study English as a Second Language (ESL).While the school draws from New York's five boroughts, our students are mostly from low-income areas such as Harlem, Bedford Stuyvesant, the Lower East Side and the South Bronx. | ||||

| Most students and their families face extreme financial hardship - living just above, or just below, the poverty line. Many often spend considerable time just tending to basic living needs. Manhattan Comprehensive is their last chance to earn a high-school diploma. | |||||
