Communities across America are discovering that they have older students, both American-born and foreign-born, still in need of a high school diploma. Many of these students, due to their age do not `fit’ into their neighborhood schools. They have adult responsibilities and need a flexible program. These students need the opportunity to bond with peers of similar age and life circumstances. They struggle with meeting real adult needs.
